Filming Blog: Grand Outdoors

Today was fairly simple, I got to work with getting my sister dressed into a decent-looking outfit and made her be my actor again. I started by getting an establishing shot of my house, marking off the list of shots I needed for my film. It was pretty awkward since there were kids playing out when we were filming. It took several tries since they kept getting into the shot. There was this one kid who was trying to ruin the shot on purpose. Which was quite annoying, like, where are your parents. So, I decided to just let them have their fun. The next shot was a tilt-down shot of the actor, my sister, coming onto the screen and walking into the house. As I was mentally taking notes about the shots I needed and how long the clips needed to be, time was ticking and I needed my clips. I had to make sure that the windows, or anything reflective, showed any of their faces. If it did, then I would have to blur it, would be a big hassle. So, I would rather try before I get a passable scene. I had managed my time since there was not much sunlight left in the day. This was due to my sister having to leave to volunteer, so we had to film before she had to leave. Because if we did not, then that would be a day wasted since it would be dark when she came back. Besides the outdoor shots, I also had to film a zoom-in shot of my sister walking into the house so the light outside matched with the other clips we took. Thankfully, we were able to film just in time for her to leave. So, once we were done filming, I started to plan the next filming session. I made sure that I was able to lock in on the filming so I could get to editing soon. I want to finish this as soon as I can since I tend to get indecisive with want I want and procrastinate until the last minute.
